Welcome to my Wig Corner

I’ve been wearing wigs for nearly thirty years (heck!) so, I think by now I’ve obtained the title of ‘Wig Expert’ hehe. Think of this page like a big wig-chat over coffee (and heads up, I could talk about wigs forever, so I hope you’re comfy ☕️).

Let’s go through some wig basics, plus all the deets for the wigs in my personal hair closet. I’ve got them all neatly organised by brand below to click through and get all the tea on the pieces I keep reaching for 😍

And watch this space while we build out a thorough wigs encyclopedia full of helpful info.

Whether you’re brand new to wigs or just looking for your next favourite, I’ve got you!

WIGS:101

Okay, let’s break down the basics, because wig shopping can feel like learning a whole new language sometimes. Here’s what you actually need to know:

✨ Lace Top vs Silk Top

  • Lace top: lower density (which I find looks more natural), lighter to wear, easier to style, and it stays back off the face more easily.

  • Silk top: a little more durable, and because the knots and return hairs are concealed in the cap layers, you cannot see knots in the part line - but the cap itself is a bit thicker.

✨ Lace-Front vs Non-Lace-Front

  • Lace-Front: These have lace along the front hairline so you can pull the hair back off your face and it still looks natural. This will ensure your wig looks realistic, even if you don’t have your own hair line (like me!!).

  • Non Lace-Front: No lace at the hairline, so they’re designed to be blended with your existing hair.

✨ Active Wigs: Bandfall + Pony Wig

  • These don’t have a hairline at all. They are designed to be worn with a headband. These wigs are designed to LAST. You can do so much in these wigs, and they’re practically unbreakable. Perfect for workouts, beach days, or when you don’t feel like fussing. I call them my “zero-effort” wigs.

  • The Bandfall wig can be worn both up in a ponytail or down, whereas the Pony Wig is designed only to be worn (you guessed it) in a ponytail.

✨ Hat Wigs

  • These are wigs without a “top” (no lace or silk) — literally just the hair designed to be worn under a hat, beanie, or scarf. They’re super lightweight, affordable, and amazing for when you want comfort and coverage without worrying about styling.
