Petite Wigs
I can’t believe I’m about to rave about synthetic wigs after swearing them off for over 10 years… but HERE WE ARE. Petite Wigs changed the game and completely converted me.
Synthetic wigs used to be shiny, heavy, itchy, baggy, and fake-looking. These are the complete opposite. Petite Wigs does synthetics so differently that they sit somewhere more between what you know of traditional synthetics and human hair wigs. They’re just that good.
And since synthetics are budget-friendly and low maintenance, I’m gonna shout from the rooftops so everyone knows where to find the BEST synthetic wigs around.
My Petite Wigs
Every Petite style comes in multiple colours (you’ll find them all on their site).
Here are the ones you’ll see me in the most!
My favourite style, and the one you’ll see the most on my feed. Chic, sleek bob. I am obsessed. I just love love love this length that sits completely above the shoulder. So easy to wear!
Cate
Colours pictured: Bondi Beach and Tim Tam
Those soft waves… so cute and swishy! I love how I can just throw this on and go. Another of my favourites.
Kylie
Colour pictured: Byron Bay
I was blown away at how beautifully this style sits. Such a gorgeous glam piece! My favourite style for wearing in a pony.
Elle
Colour pictured: Byron Bay
I find this the most versatile style due to that perfect mid-length. Gorgeous down or in a ponytail.
Isla
Colour pictured: Anzac Biscuit
Oh a fringe?? I’m sold. Every time. Wigs with bangs are so easy, such a throw on and go option.
Sandy with a Fringe

She's a little longer than Cate, and has tapered layered ends rather than a blunt bob cut!

Why Petite Wigs?
These are the holy grail of synthetic wigs. They’re made from techno fibre hair, which is heat-friendly and can be styled just like human hair. They’re low-density, so they feel super light. (I’m talking like 100 grams for the short styles, you can’t even feel them on). The hair moves and falls like human hair, with no bulkiness at the roots. Hallelujah.
The caps fit petite to average head sizes (20.5-22 inches circumference), and they hug your head perfectly with no bagginess at all, the complete opposite of the synthetics I grew up wearing. OMG, and the comfort surprised me more than anything else. They’re lightweight, secure, and feel amazing on.
I have people regularly telling me they can’t believe how realistic these wigs look, even as they’re right up close and inspecting the hairline lol.
A Team that Cares
The Petite Wigs team are SO helpful and supportive.
They love working with you to find a solution, even if it’s outside of their own product range.
If you have a larger head size, they’re still more than happy to chat and even recommend a good option for you from another brand! (Are they literal angels here on earth?)
They ship worldwide, and they’re based in Perth, Australia, if you want an in-person consult.
They cover pretty much everything too: synthetic wigs, human hair wigs, toppers - whatever you’re looking for, the Petite team are worth chatting to!
Choosing the Right Style & Making It Work
Here’s the thing with synthetic wigs: they need a little love when you first take them out of the box. Just a few quick tweaks and suddenly you go from “return to sender” to “feelin’ myself.” I even have a must-watch video showing exactly how I do this, because the difference is wild.
You can move the part line around. You’re not stuck with whatever side or middle part it comes with. They’re heat-friendly, so you can curl or straighten them to suit your style. Although one of the best parts about synthetic wigs, of course, is that you don’t have to. They hold their set style, even after you wash it. Yep, that means if you buy Kylie with her gorgeous soft waves, you can wash her, let her air dry, and she’ll bounce right back into her perfect waves. Low maintenance goals!! (And such a saving grace for those of us who aren’t good at styling - I’m absolutely raising my own hand here lol.)
You can cut synthetic wigs just like human hair wigs. So if you’re not sure whether you can pull off Cate’s sharp bob, you could choose Rose instead and trim her shorter if you want something in between. You can add bangs, face-framing layers, or customise the style however you like - they’re that flexible.
My advice when you get a synthetic wig, give it a chance to do its thing. Play around with how the hair is falling around your face, fix that default zig-zag parting, then see how it starts to come to life. Another top tip: you can reduce the shine factor on synthetic wigs with a quick spray of dry shampoo!
